Google brings Gemini Spark, a 24/7 personal AI agent, to India

Announced at I/O, the cloud-based agent now reaches Indian users

7/29/2026

Google is rolling out Gemini Spark in India, a personal AI agent that runs around the clock and takes actions on a user's behalf. First announced at Google I/O in May, Spark is powered by Gemini 3.5 and lives inside the Gemini app.

Unlike device-bound assistants, Spark is cloud-based, which lets it keep working on multi-step tasks in the background. It reasons across information in connected apps — pulling a document referenced in an email, for example — and Google says integrations with third-party services including OpenTable, Spotify and Uber are on the way.

What it means for Indian users

India is one of the largest markets for the Gemini app, and an agent that can plan, summarise and act across Workspace and consumer apps is likely to see rapid adoption among students, small businesses and knowledge workers.
