Peddi review — Ram Charan anchors a rooted sports epic

Peddi is Buchi Babu Sana at his most confident. The film grounds its sports arc in a specific village world — its politics, its grounds, its long summers — and lets the drama grow from there.

Ram Charan gives one of his most physical and interior performances, and the supporting ensemble adds texture. A. R. Rahman's score lifts the final act without overwhelming it.

The film closed a 29-day run at around Rs 340 crore worldwide, with record numbers in the Telugu states and a strong showing in North America.

Verdict: Rousing, rooted and beautifully shot — a sports film with a real sense of place.
